Energy is supplied to your home across a network of cables and pipelines. The maintenance and long-term development of this network is Sibelga's responsibility.

Sibelga is the only distribution network operator for electricity and natural gas in the 19 municipalities of the Brussels Capital Region.

Sibelga is also responsible for reading meters and for validating and administering consumption data.

The company has around 1,000 members of staff.

  • Transmit electricity across the high-voltage network

  • Supply natural gas via the high-pressure network
    (the transmission network operator Fluxys does that)
  • Carry out work on interior installations for electricity and natural gas.

  • Repair household appliances.
    (the manufacturer’s customer services department does that)
  • Repair the lighting on motorways and regional public highways
    (the government does that)
  • Pay energy grants ( Brussels Environment does that)
