... and would like to know what to do about your meters ? Then follow these three steps carefully.
Contact your energy supplier in good time
They will explain what you are expected to do so that your final bill can be prepared for your old address, and how to arrange your contract for your new address.
You will find your energy supplier’s contact details on your energy bill.Sibelga also provides a list of all energy suppliers with their contact details.
Terminate the billing for the home you are leaving
On the day you leave your old home, complete the OUT form with the new occupant. Then pass on the meter readings noted on this form to your energy supplier so that they can prepare your final bill.
Arrange for the energy supply to your new home
When you receive the keys to your new home, complete the IN form with the previous occupant.
Once the IN form has been completed, contact your energy supplier as quickly as possible.
This is the only way to ensure that your contract is in order at your new address so that billing can start without any problem on the basis of the correct meter readings.
If you do not do this in time, then you run the risk that Sibelga shuts your meters as your contract is not in order.
By using these documents you also have proof of the agreement between the new and outgoing occupants. This will avoid subsequent discussions about meter readings.
N.B.: the documents on moving house should be sent to the energy supplier you have chosen, and NOT to Sibelga.
