The Brussels Capital Region is a densely populated area with a significant level of economic activities. This is why virtually no load shedding is planned here!

2 areas in Brussels could be affected by load shedding

Although virtually no load shedding is planned in Brussels, there is the exception of 2 small areas.

  • Uccle zone: 45 streets in the Fort-Jaco/Prince d'Orange district in Uccle.
  • Laeken zone : 3 streets in Laeken located at the border with Strombeek-Bever.

Do you live on one of these streets?

The areas affected by load shedding are always announced by the media the day before. Any potential power cut will most likely last for 2 to 4 hours.

The risk of load shedding is highest on weekdays (outside school holidays), between 4pm and 8pm, especially if it is very cold, cloudy and there's no wind.
