To determine the electricity perimeter of your sharing, you need to know the part of the network where all the participants in your project are located. This has an impact on the network tariffs applied for volumes exchanged as part of the sharing.
The charge for using the network varies according to the part of the network used for the sharing. The closer the various participants are to the production source(s), the lower the cost of using the network. The aim is to encourage sharing as locally as possible.
4 possible perimeters
The applicable network tariffs are divided into 4 categories according to the electricity perimeter of the sharing.
- In the same building (lowest rate).
- Under the same network substation, medium to low voltage.
- Above the same network substation, and under the same Elia primary substation.
- Above the Elia primary substation (no reduced tariff).
We apply the same tariff to all participants in the sharing. If one of the participants exceeds a technical boundary (e.g. the substation), the same network tariff will be applied to all participants in the project.
