In small buildings

In small buildings with fewer than three dwellings, three parking spaces or three independent garages, residents can place their charging station directly behind their individual meter. They therefore pay their electric charging costs to their energy provider.

In large buildings

A collective solution is mandatory in buildings with more than three dwellings, three parking spaces or three independent garages. For example, the use of a shared meter for all charging stations.

When several residents share a meter for electric charging, the charging costs are managed by a third party. This may be a CPO (Charge Point Operator) or the property management company itself. The shared meter and that of each charging point are read so that everyone can be invoiced for their electricity consumption. Residents then pay their charging costs to the CPO or the syndic, depending on the management model envisaged.
