Sibelga again achieves maximum Ecodynamic label score

Sustainability is in Sibelga's DNA. The label is recognition of our long-standing policy focus on environmental and sustainability.

The ecodynamic label is 'the' Brussels reference on environmental management. It is an official recognition for Brussels organisations committed to reducing the environmental impact of their activities.

A recognition of our long-standing focus

In 2009, Sibelga achieved a 2-star label for the first time. That score was confirmed in 2012, and another star was added in 2015. From then on, Sibelga ranked among the top companies in Brussels that care about the environment.

In a changing world, to stand still is to go backwards, which is why our recertification in 2023 was inscribed in our Annual Action Plan, with which we want to confirm our continued attention to our environmental impact.

So what are we doing?

  • By 2030, we aim to reduce our scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% compared to 2019. This is possible by reducing consumption, purchasing green electricity, electrification of the vehicle fleet, etc., among other things.
  • we contribute to reducing the emissions of our customers, Brussels residents and Brussels companies, by helping to renovate public buildings, raising awareness through Energuide and Enerkids, energy sharing, etc.
  • we try to reduce our purchases and waste production and are constantly looking for circular solutions and improvements
  • we promote awareness and sensitisation on the various environmental and sustainability topics.

What's next?

We are justifiably proud at this result and the hard work of several of our colleagues in different departments.

Of course, it doesn't stop here! We continue to improve and are currently focusing more and more on circularity. A theme that affects every one of us: after all, we all consume raw materials and create waste. Together, we are trying to close that cycle!
